GETTING STARTED

The UK driving licence comes in two parts, BOTH will need to be looked after safely.

What YOU need to do before you can start learning to drive
Before you can learn to drive a car, you have to be at least 17 years old, and hold a provisional driving licence. To apply for a provisional licence, you must complete two forms, (D1 and D750) which are available at your local post office.
You can also apply for your first provisional driving licence for a car, moped or motorcycle using the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency's (DVLA) secure and easy to use online service.

We suggest that you send off for your licence in good time, (allow about 3 weeks) so that you are not delayed once you have made the decision to get started. You must not drive until you have one.
Your Eyesight
You must be able to read a car number plate from a distance of 20.5 meters, or about 67 feet. If you need to wear glasses or contact lenses to do this, you must use them when driving. If you have any doubts, have your eyes tested.
Once you can meet the above requirements,
you are ready to start your training.
At Allways School of Motoring we appreciate that though learning to drive is really important,
It should still be FUN.
You learn quicker when you're enjoying yourself, and we go out of our way to ensure learning to drive, which some can find a scary prospect, is much easier than you think.
